Public Safety Forum 2022
The annual Public Safety Forum was held on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at 5:30 p.m. The forum returned indoors at Community Hall, 10350 Torre Avenue, Cupertino, CA 95014. Approximately, 108 members of the community attended joining members of the City Council and the Public Safety Commission.
Formal and detailed presentations have been the hallmark of the Public Safety Forum in the past. Residents and community members engaged directly with public safety officials to discuss specific concerns. In consultation with the Public Safety Commission, the list formal presentations follows:

Deputy Chief Dennis Lollie, Santa Clara County Fire Department – New wildfire resilience program
Director Bruce Copley, Santa Clara County Behavioral Health Services – Overview of new 988 crisis help line and suicide prevention
Meredith Gerhardt, Emergency Management Analyst, and Victoria Morin, Community Outreach Specialist, City of Cupertino – Green Blocks Program – A partnership with the Office of Sustainability and Emergency Management to provide a new curriculum for Block Leaders to bring to their neighbors.
Ken Ericksen, Citizen Corps Coordinator, City of Cupertino – Resident Responders and your role in emergency preparedness.
Captain Neil Valenzuela, Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office – Annual crime statistics and community policing concepts
New This Year – A Public Safety Fair
This year’s Public Safety Forum featured an expansion upon last year’s programming. This year a larger safety fair atmosphere with multiple agencies and organizations provided table presentations around the perimeter of the event. Tabling presentations included the following:
