How to Apply for a Commission
Annual commission vacancies are filled in January, and in May for Teen Commission. Occasionally, there are unscheduled vacancies to be filled for the unexpired portion of the term. Check the "Current Commission Vacancies" link below.
Fill out the Online Commission Application and submit it to the City Clerk's Office. You will be notified when your interview is scheduled before the City Council.
Commission appointments are made by majority vote of the Council for a term of four years (two years for Teen Commission). Each member must be administered the Oath of Office by the City Clerk prior to the first meeting. All members (except Teen) are required to submit Statements of Economic Interest (Form 700) upon initial appointment and then annually. A final Statement is filed upon leaving the commission.

The Recruitment Period for City Commissions is Now Open
(Not for Teen Commission). Recruitment for upcoming vacancies begins in late October and runs through early January. See the Commission Vacancies page for active recruitments and application deadlines. Applications may be submitted during the open recruitment period using the Online Commission Application (Not for Teen Commission).
County Regional Advisory Applications
